La Commission de la construction du Québec
Created in 1987, the Commission de la construction du Québec (CCQ) is responsible for applying the Act Respecting Labour Relations, Vocational Training and Workforce Management in the Construction Industry (Act R-20), which regulates the industry. The CCQ is funded mainly by deductions at source on total payroll from the workers and employers in the construction industry.
Because of its mission and mandate, CCQ offers numerous services to the clienteles that it serves, including those related to social benefits, retirement, insurance, vocational training, labour management, and application of the construction industry’s collective agreements.
Both its history and its mission testify to the central role that the CCQ plays within a dynamic sector whose influence extends into all areas of the Québec economy.
In December 2012, when the Loi éliminant le placement syndical et visant l’amélioration du fonctionnement de l’industrie de la construction was adopted, the CCQ received the mandate to administer the construction industry’s new workforce management and referral service: the Carnet référence construction.
